I've owned a pellet grill (Camp Chef Woodwind), and I now own the Char-Griller Gravity 980. While I've only used the 980 a couple of times so far, I am extremely impressed with it. It comes up to temp MUCH quicker than the Camp Chef, If you're cooking at 225-250 and then crank it up to 600-700, it gets up there in maybe 5-8 minutes.
