If you could set target to "weak", you'd be able to clear large numbers of low-tier bloons anywhere on the map, as you attack at a decent speed, and get some sizeable "splash" damage on surrounding bloons, weakening them down to be in range for your "weak" target priority. You can do this with x/3/2 or x/2/3+, depending on what you value most.
