For one handed weapons, the only thing that comes close to the long sword is the broad sword. The long sword is the best smaller weapon for for both dps, and ar, especially being that it requires the least stat investment. At 60 faith, lightning infused long sword does around 432 AR and around 480 unabridged with a lightning clutch ring.Casters are good at 20-25, melee are good for 25-30. 25 lets you get at least 4 hits with most greatswords/3 hits with most ultras.
